After I preached last week at the Sunday evening student worship service at Luther, on the subject of justification by grace through faith in Christ alone, (texts: Numbers 21:4-9 & John 3:13-15), and a friend in the biology department spoke tonight on the topic of holiness, from Colossians 3:1-16, I am encouraged. The students seem to be very receptive to this - the songs sung (it's purely contemporary) have been very Christ-centered, and the report on the street is that the students want more of this. Maybe this evening service is turning around? Please pray for these students - they, as do all on the Luther campus, need the gospel desperately... we're doing what we can to preach it to them, but we are only speaking for four weeks (the four of us professors in the sciences). I have a sense, only a slight sense, that something is afoot. Is God working through this to change hearts and minds? May it be so. Please pray with us to this end.
We'll definitely be praying. Please keep us posted!
