I can hear Gomer Pyle saying "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!".... just take a look at Kerry Tax Hikes, from which the below is quoted:
WASHINGTON - After campaigning for over a year on a promise to raise taxes on only the "rich,” John Kerry has finally made his plans crystal clear yesterday; he wants to stick middle class Americans with a huge tax hike.In a speech yesterday, Kerry told his audience that he plans to follow Bill Clinton’s model and do, “the same thing that we set out to do in 1993, and I was there and I voted for it, I know how we did it.” They “did it” with the largest tax increase in American history.
Is ANYBODY surprised by this? Who could be, if they listen to all the promises Kerry makes. Here is another clear example of Kerry speaking out of both sides of his mouth, and expecting the people to either miss it or excuse it. Unfortunately most people will probably just miss it.
It's utterly laughable - this man who claims to be the patron of the middle class is going to stick it to 'em again. He clearly cannot afford his extravagant programs without these tax dollars, and obviously doesn't realize or care (either one, and whichever one it is is irrelevant, for both show him to have NO concern for the middle class's economic situation).
The usual strategy is followed... promise lots of golden-plated programs.... stick it to the average American by hiking income tax rates, gas taxes and social security. Things haven't changed a bit.
