In another of his letters, I found a short comment that so readily could be applied to the times we live in rather than his times of 370 years ago:
And when authority, king, court and churchmen oppose the truth, what other armour have we but prayer and faith?
This should not be read, of course, as retreatism. The author of Lex, Rex should by no means be thought of as one who eschewed political activity... Rather, he founded all action upon our relationship and faithful obedience to God our Father. Let us have the same attitude.
