And the Lord God Created It All

Psalm 8:1-4 (ESV)

O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babes and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?

One of the perks of being a professor in a Physics department at a small liberal arts college is the availability of telescopes to fool around with. Tonight was so clear I just had to try to get a very amateurish shot of the moon through the 10" portable telescope we've got at Luther. Here's a small product of tonight's efforts, a shot focusing on the crater Tycho (the prominent one in the central portion of the photo. The Heavens do indeed declare the Glory of God.
